COVID-19 Preventive Measures

Specialist Imaging for Women is dedicated to ensuring the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and community.

We are an essential service provider and have implemented the following changes to the way we deliver our care to you, to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19:

  1. Risk Screening

Our reception staff contact every patient before their appointment to identify patients who may be at increased risk of infection. Patients who are identified as of increased risk will be rescheduled or referred back to consult with their doctor.

For the safety of our patients and our staff, we ask that if you are feeling unwell, have a fever, cough, respiratory or flu like symptoms, have travelled overseas or have had close contact with a known COVID-19 case within the last 14 days, do not attend for your appointment.  Contact us on 86094100 and we will reschedule you

  1. Hand Hygiene

Patients will be required to use hand sanitizer on arrival and before using the EFTPOS machine.

  1. Physical Distancing

Physical distancing has been identified as very important in stopping transmission of COVID-19, however it isn’t possible to perform your ultrasound without contact between patient and Sonographer. To provide the safest care to our patients, our Sonographers and Doctors will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment.  Rest assured we are still smiling under our face masks!

Our waiting room has been modified to allow safe distance between patients. With limited chairs in the waiting room, patients may be asked to wait in their car or outside until a chair is available.

We regret that unfortunately we cannot accommodate partners/support people in the scan room with you at this time.

For pregnancy scans we will send a link to your mobile phone of images of your baby via our online image sharing program, Tricefy. A limited videocall of the screen to your partner at the end of the scan may be possible. We thank you for your understanding of these necessary restrictions at this time.

  1. Areas of high usage or risk

The surfaces in our reception area, waiting room and bathrooms are disinfected frequently throughout the day.  We have also removed the magazines, toys and additional furniture from the reception area.

The ultrasound rooms, ultrasound machines, probes and other medical equipment are disinfected between every patient. This takes time, so please be patient if this causes delays.

These procedures have been implemented to provide the safest care for you and our staff at this unprecedented time and we appreciate your understanding with the necessary modifications to our usual practice.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact us on 8609 4100
